Energy Assessment for the Data Center- Step 1

energy management

First, we must identify:

  • 1-      Preliminary scope and onsite activities.
  • 2-      key personnel
  • 3-      onsite logistics
  • 4-      Timing of the Energy Assessment.

·         What are the Preliminary scope and onsite activities?

The preliminary scope is to provide the site with a trained staff that can effectively apply energy management principles to investigate systems in the data center.

·         Who are the key personnel?

The person who apply energy management assessment results and provides support in technical terms.

·         What is onsite logistics?

Arrange a gate pass for the evaluator and identify lodging issues

  • when is the assessment can be done?
  • the total number of days on-site depends on the number of system examinations (typically 2-3 days per Primary System)
The Site Lead (key personnel) should do a preliminary assessment, based on available data. The evaluator will be available (off-site) to assist. Besides providing an energy profile of the data center, this preliminary assessment will help with the Target Systems identification.
